Vona Vella are acoustic pop-folk-soul duo Daniel Cunningham and Izzy Davis (occasionally operating as a full band set-up). Their music is perfect for the summer heat, attracting interest from greats such as Morcheeba who picked up their single ‘Sun’ to remix, giving them a healthy quarter of a million plays on Spotify – madness, but worthy!
Using complex vocal harmonies accompanied with jazz inspired chords, Vona Vella deliver meaningful lyrics written for the listener to find their own interpretation. Also pulling from elements of folk, soul and pop, Vona Vella have created a new collection of songs to showcase Summer 2021. After recently joining a new label, they’re excited to be back playing live shows with their band, and stripping back to their acoustic roots.
You can find them on;
Charity Stow is an up and coming musician who is building upon the successes of the last two years. Hailing from Nottingham, the self-taught artist crafts beautiful melodies and recordings influenced by a wide range of artists that she has listened to throughout her life – for fans of ‘if Bernard Butler produced Birdy’. Recent single ‘Wake Up’ is an absolute wonder.
Acoustic star Emily Carr has been bobbing between Leeds and Leicester, focussing entirely on her creative output across the last year. Her spritely guitar work, smooth vocals and insightful lyrics are captivating.
New blood and triple threat actress/model/musician Heidi Rolph-Stott has an abundance of confidence as shown in her recent single ‘Unlovable’ which demonstrates her powerful vocals and clear diction, drawing occasional comparisons to Aurora. One to watch, so make sure you catch her set!
Craig Gould will be stepping into Heidi‘s shoes for the night – an up-and-coming Folk/Americana singer-songwriter who is about to explode across the scene with big plans from September onwards.
Craig Gould combines his “Beautiful songwriting” (Simon Fowler, Ocean Colour Scene) and “Powerful voice” (Mark Chadwick, Levellers) to entwine his listeners within his “Wonderfully crafted tales” (BBC Introducing).
Having taken the stage at some of the UK’s most loved venues (Birmingham Symphony Hall, Islington Academy, Liverpool Cavern Club) and lauded festivals (Bearded Theory, Solfest, Timber Festival), Craig’s timeless and contemporary songwriting will finally be officially released throughtout 2021/22 as part of his groundbreaking project in partnership with the mental health charity CALM.
