Another One Zero Presents gig at Dubrek Studios, this time we’ve imported three of Nottingham’s brightest acts that you need to see. They’re all absolutely slaying it at present, wherever they play, no matter where on the line-up they appear, so are definitely not to be missed.

Headlining is Tori Sheard, a folk-pop singer-songwriter, crowned ‘Best Nottingham Solo Artist Of 2019’ by The Mic Magazine. ‘Possessing the free-flowing aura omnipresent within Florence Welch and Maggie Rogers’, Tori brilliantly combines poetic lyrics with earwig melodies to capture human emotion, from simple love songs to existential social commentaries. Entangled with country-pop undertones, her earthy and ethereal sound finds its nuances in the likes of First Aid Kit and Jade Bird.

Described as ‘emotive and resonant, whilst still having a heavy hint of ‘holy shit, she’s on the verge of being a mega-famous popstar’’, Tori is quickly making her mark in the UK music scene! After selling out two headline shows at Nottingham’s ‘The Bodega’ and ‘Rough Trade’ before turning 20, she’s one to watch.

Kelsey and the Embers are main support. Formed in late 2018, the four piece indie pop/rock band is fronted by former solo artist Kelsey Shaw, who’s compositions have been described as including ‘the beaut Acoustic-Pop touches that Notts has come to love’ – Sam Nahirny, NUSIC. The band has since gone on to play venues such as Rescue Rooms, The Bodega and The Chameleon supporting an array of local Notts musicians. They are currently working on their debut EP, to be released April 2020 after the success of prior singles such as Howlin’ and Healing, reaching over 70K streams on Spotify.
